Regulatory Compliance Workflows (New in 3.8)

California AB 2975 Compliance Support

Version 3.8 introduces purpose-built workflows to help California hospitals prepare for AB 2975, which amends Labor Code Section 6401.9 to require automated weapons detection screening at the main public entrance, emergency department entrance, and any separate labor & delivery entrance ahead of the March 1, 2027 compliance timeline.

Entrance Designation & Coverage Mapping — Designate and document your facility's main public entrance, ED entrance, and L&D entrance directly in Control Center. Screening stations are mapped to designated entrances, creating an auditable record that required entrances are covered whenever open to the public.
Screening Uptime & Coverage Reports — New reports show screening activity by designated entrance, including hours of operation coverage, throughput, and alert outcomes — exportable to PDF/CSV for surveyor and Cal/OSHA documentation requests.
Weapon-Detected Response Workflow — Guided response flow aligned to AB 2975 policy requirements: secondary screening, law enforcement coordination, and voluntary departure with re-entry after the weapon is removed. Each step is timestamped in the Incident Response Report.
Screening Refusal & Alternative Screening Workflow — New IRR pathway to document visitors or patients who decline device screening, capture the alternative search/screening method used, and confirm that access to medical care was not conditioned on screening — supporting EMTALA-safe ED operations.
Signage & Policy Acknowledgment Records — Store your weapon detection screening policy and entrance signage documentation against each designated entrance for a single audit-ready compliance package.
Operator Training Records (BSIS 8-Hour Requirement) — Track designated screening staff and their completion of the required eight hours of training (device operation and troubleshooting, weapon-detected response procedures, de-escalation, and implicit bias awareness), with expiration reminders and exportable training rosters.

Cal/OSHA Workplace Violence Prevention Support

New workflows supporting Cal/OSHA's Workplace Violence Prevention in Health Care standard (Title 8 §3342) and Labor Code 6401.9 obligations:

Violent Incident Log — WDS and VMS alerts (weapon detections, sex-offender flags, threat events) can be promoted into a structured violent incident log capturing incident type, location, involved parties, response actions, and outcomes in the format Cal/OSHA expects.
WVPP Plan Integration — Attach your Workplace Violence Prevention Plan to your account and link incident records, post-incident reviews, and corrective actions back to plan sections for annual review documentation.
Post-Incident Review Workflow — Guided post-incident debrief forms with corrective action tracking, assignable follow-ups, and closure status visible in Control Center.
Cal/OSHA Reporting Exports — One-click export of violent incident logs, training records, and entrance coverage data to support Cal/OSHA reporting timelines and inspection requests.
Security Risk Assessment Support — Entrance and station data now feed a facility access-point summary to support the environmental risk assessments required under §3342.
