The cause of the Misconfiguration alert can be:
Pole(s) not in view of the controller
One or both poles turned off
Lighting issues causing the poles to not be seen
Poles are too close or too far from the Controller
Controller is angled too far away from the poles
Sleeves obstructing pole indicator lights
Reboot needed
Pole(s) Not in View of the Controller
For proper configuration, both poles must be in clear view of the Controller iPad. If either or both poles are not in view, the Controller will not recognize the OG poles and a Misconfiguration Alert will be displayed.
One or Both Poles Turned Off
Both poles must be turned on for the Controller to read alert information from the poles. If the green indicator lights are not visible at the top, the poles need to be turned on.
Possible Causes:
Power switch is turned off on one or both poles
Power cord is disconnected from pole or from power outlet
Battery is not installed in pole
Battery in pole is dead
Lighting Issues
When the poles are installed in an area with poor lighting or very bright lighting, the camera on the Operator can struggle to identify the poles and/or the lights on top. This may lead to a Misconfiguration Alert.
To remedy the issue, you can first try slightly repositioning the poles. You can then try repositioning the Operator. If neither of these works, you can adjust the Exposure Bias under the Weapons Detection System Poles settings. Start by moving the setting up or down in 0.5 increments until the picture is clear and the poles can be easily seen.
Poles Too Close or Far From Controller
The distance between the poles and the Controller iPad needs to be within 4 feet to 12 feet and the distance off the ground must be between 4 feet and 10 feet. These parameters ensure that the iPad can get a clear view of the poles.
The standard floor stand Athena provides has a range from 47.8” to 67.1”
Controller Angled Too Far Away
The angle of the Controller compared to the poles can cause a Misconfiguration Alert, as it may cause the lights on the poles to not be visible. Ensure that the lights are visible to the camera and try to avoid extreme angles when positioning the Controller.
Sleeves Obstructing Pole Indicator Light
"Pull the sleeves down" Sometimes the sleeves can be positioned too high up on the poles, which can interfere with the Controller's ability to properly detect and configure the system.
Why This Causes Issues:
Obstruct the pole's indicator lights
- The green indicator lights at the top of the poles may be partially or completely blocked.
Create visual obstructions
- The Controller's camera may not be able to properly identify the poles due to altered appearance.
Affect calibration
- The system's ability to establish proper reference points may be compromised
Reboot Needed
Once all of the other possibilities have been verified, a reboot of the iPads along with shutting down the poles and removing power for 5 minutes and powering back on is advised.
