Best Practices For Weapons Detection System Testing and Reporting

1. Homeland Security Best Practice Guide and other standards and guides all recommend testing the Walk Through Metal Detector/Weapons Detection System daily or before an event start to make sure: WDS is working correctly and to make sure staff understand how the system works and the limitations of the Weapons Detection System/ Walk Through Metal Detector. 





2.  Now you have decided you need to test the WDS but how do you test it?   We refer to the NIJ standard for testing as they show you how they test it in the following image.
















3. After you are done testing the Walk Through Metal Detector/ Weapons Detection System you need document the findings and report them.  Currently this is done on paper if at all.   Now Athena brings you automated testing and reporting.  Please watch video and see how it all works.
