Ambulance Bay Scanner (ABS) Installation & Mounting Guide

Purpose

This guide provides mounting specifications and installation requirements for the Athena Security Ambulance Bay Scanner (ABS), including:

• Wall mounting points
• Floor mounting points
• L-bracket placement
• Mounting dimensions
• Hole specifications
• Recommended installation layout

1. System Mounting Overview

The ABS system uses:

• 6 wall mounting points
• 4 floor mounting points

Each wall mounting point requires an individual L-bracket.

• 3 mounting points on the left side
• 3 mounting points on the right side

Floor Mounting Points

• 2 mounting points on the left leg
• 2 mounting points on the right leg

2. Wall Mounting Instructions

Wall Mount Configuration

Each wall mounting location uses a dedicated steel L-bracket fastened to:

1. The wall structure
2. The ABS frame

Measured from floor level to mounting point centerline:

Distance between left and right mounting brackets:

• 928 mm center-to-center

Recommended Hardware

• Concrete anchors or lag bolts suitable for structural wall material
• Minimum embedment depth: 75 mm

3. Floor Mounting Instructions

Floor Mount Configuration

The ABS frame includes four floor mounting locations:

• 2 mounting points on left support leg
• 2 mounting points on right support leg

Reference layout shown on Page 4. 

Floor Mount Spacing

Outside Distance

• 532.5 mm

Inside Distance

• 452.5 mm

Measurements are symmetrical from the center wall reference line. 

Floor Anchor Specifications

4. Recommended Installation Procedure

Step 1 — Verify Installation Area

• Confirm wall and floor surfaces are structurally sound
• Verify adequate clearance around the scanner
• Ensure mounting surfaces are level

Step 2 — Mark Wall Mount Locations

Using the dimensions provided:

• Mark all 6 wall mounting locations
• Confirm:
  • 928 mm center spacing
  • Correct vertical elevations

Step 3 — Install L-Brackets

• Drill Ø10 mm holes to 75 mm depth
• Install anchors
• Secure each bracket independently

Step 4 — Position ABS Unit

• Align the scanner with wall brackets
• Attach frame to brackets
• Verify plumb and level alignment

Step 5 — Secure Floor Mounts

• Mark all 4 floor anchor locations
• Drill Ø15 mm mounting holes
• Install lag bolts or anchors
• Tighten all hardware to specification

Step 6 — Final Inspection

Verify:

• All hardware is tightened
• Scanner is level
• No frame movement exists
• All mounting points are secured

5. Important Notes

• All dimensions are in millimeters
• Each wall mounting point requires its own L-bracket
• Structural mounting surfaces are required
• Use installation hardware rated for the scanner weight and environmental conditions
