NIJ 0601.02 standard states that you need to be a clean tester: 1.2.4
Clean Tester A person who does not carry any electrically conductive and magnetizable objects which would significantly alter the signal produced when the person carries a test object.
This makes a big difference as even the smallest piece of metal like a set of keys can alter your results and shifting the detecting outcome of your Weapons Detection System / Walk Through Metal Detector.
